| CROP PRODUCTION INSTRUCTOR The Lethbridge College has an exciting full-time continuing position available in the Centre for Applied Arts and Sciences. The successful candidate will provide students with the theoretical knowledge as well as the laboratory skills needed in the different aspects of crop production including genetically modified crops for pharmaceutical or biofuel needs. The program courses provide students with both practical skills and theoretical background. The candidate must be willing to work as a team player as well as being involved in promotion and extension activities relating to curriculum development. Active involvement in industry organizations would also be an asset. Crop Production - The candidate requires background in production techniques for crops specific to Southern Alberta and a background in variety selection and irrigation. Experience in pesticide application and horticulture is also required. Botany - The candidate requires a background in plant physiology and plant taxonomy. Soil Management - The candidate should have theoretical knowledge and some laboratory skills working with soil management, classification, fertility and conservation. Qualifications: Applicants must have a Master of Science in Agronomy or related field (Doctor of Science in Agronomy preferred). The applicant must also have previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level with supporting teaching evaluations, good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented organization. In addition, applicants must have practical crop production experience. Salary Range: Commensurate with education and experience according to the current Faculty Collective Agreement.
