| Telecom Technician/Radio We are a global engineering specialist solutions provider with over 11,000 employees operating in 28 countries worldwide. We have provided specialist Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) services, Construction, and Technical Support Services to clients in the energy and resources sectors for more than 90 years. We currently have permanent fulltime Telecom Technician (Radio) positions available in Alberta. MAIN DUTIES Specific to Radio Technician, troubleshoots, maintains and repairs trunked radio systems, microwave radio systems and wireless interfaces. Specific to Radio Technician, performs periodic frequency sweeps to identify potential problems and/or radio interference. Develops and maintains asset log, including asset allocation, programming and updates. Develops and implements periodic maintenance procedures. Liaises with system owners group to ensure equipment is operating within the license terms and identify potential for expansion. Installs, moves, and modifies telecommunications and related equipment according to job order specifications, standards, and procedures. Diagnoses equipment malfunctions. Repairs voice and data equipment. Establishes time and cost estimates. Maintains accurate records of staff hours and materials used. Reports and monitors service order changes. Maintains and repairs telecommunications systems and equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and specifications. EDUCATION SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Trade certification for Communications Electrician or Completion of a college electrical or electronics program with specialization in Telecommunications Preference to those with experience with Motorola Trunked Radio Systems and/or Wireless Interface Systems Must have experience with test equipment such as RF power meters, spectrum analyzers, service analyzers, VSWR meters and BER testers Comfortable with working at heights including AWP, scaffolds and ladders Preference to those with oil and gas experience Preference to those with CSTS Sprucegrove,Devon,St. Alban,trunked radio systems,telecommunications equipment,RF power meter spectrum analyzers | |
