General Responsibilities:


Accountable for all aspects of process engineering in our Utilities plants for safe, efficient and environmentally compliant operation.
This area is responsible for the supply and treatment of raw, cooling and process waters; the fire loop, process and instrument air, and generation of steam, for the Brandon facility; also looks after the anhydrous ammonia storage, refrigeration and loading systems.
The Process Engineer will monitor, optimize, troubleshoot, and make process improvements in the Utilities areas.
Provide technical support and expertise to operations for continuous improvement in plant reliability, production, efficiency and profitability.
Work closely with vendors and contractors to gather data, analyze trends, and make enhancements to processes.
Coach and mentor the production workforce to develop their knowledge and capabilities with regard to the processes.
Participate in team efforts to identify, develop, obtain approval and execute capital projects using our company's phased approval process.
Develop annual production plan and prepare reports/scorecards for management

Preferred Qualifications:


Bachelor of Engineering with 3+ years work experience in the chemical processing or water treatment industries.
Some level of Power/Stationary/Marine Engineering certification would be an asset
Strong computer skills and familiarity with standard software packages is required. Experience in use of Hysis simulation software would be preferred.
Good technical, communication, problem solving, economic, critical thinking, initiative and team skills are essential
Familiarity with process safety practices for hazardous operations, process control, and DCS systems is required; some project management experience would be an asset.
