In 2007, Korean Ministry of Education made an announcement to hire more than 1,000 teachers just for public schools in Korean government's aim to promote and strengthen the skills of English for Korean students. There are over 15,000 public (primary through high school) schools, 40 to 50 English Villages, thousands of language institutes and over 100’s of English Camps held throughout Korea during vacations in a year and accordingly, Korea will need at least 15,000 native English teachers every year so we want you to be one of them ! ! ! ! ! ◈ Job Description Successful applicants will be required to conduct English conversation classes for Korean elementary ,junior high and high school students in various locations of Korea as part of the Korean government's aim to promote and strengthen English language education. A candidate should have strong sense of creativity, motivation, and enjoy working with young children and teenagers as part of an academic team. Successful applicants are expected to focus on the development of oral communication skills using interactive teaching methods. ◈ Benefits of Public School Positions ♦ Starting date: March 1 st , 2007 ♦ Salary: 1.8~2.3million Korean won per month (depends on Qualification) $1.00=923.45 won ♦ Working hours: 8:30 AM ~ 4:30 PM (depends on schools) ♦ Teaching hours: less than 100 hours per month (depends on schools) ♦ Free round trip airfare (provided by the school) ♦ 100% severance pay ( A month of salary paid as a bonus after completing a full year) ♦ 14 working days paid vacation a year (depends on schools) + All Korean national holidays ♦ 50% medical insurance, 50% national pension plan supported ♦ Full furnished single housing or housing allowance (300,000won per month) ♦ Very low income tax of 3~5% ,benefit of 9% (4.5% paid by employer) pension returned after a year ◈ Benefits of Teaching in Private Institutes ♦ Starting date: ASAP ♦ Salary: 2.0~3.0million Korean won per month (depends on qualification) $1.00=923.45 won ♦ Working hours: Private institute’s classes operates after regular school hours ♦ Teaching hours: over 100 hours per month (depends on schools) ♦ Free round trip airfare (provided by the school) ♦ 100% severance pay ( A month of salary paid as a bonus after completing a full year) ♦ 14 working days paid vacation a year (depends on schools) + all Korean national holidays ♦ 50% medical insurance, 50% national pension plan supported ♦ Full furnished single housing or housing allowance (300,000won per month) ♦ Very low income tax of 3~5% ,benefit of 9%(4.5% paid by employer) pension returned after a year ◈ HOW IT WORKS All nationals employed as native speaking English teachers have to apply for an E-2 visa. To get the visa, you need to provide Korean immigration with your original degree certificate, a photocopy of your passport, transcripts from your degree course and 2 passport pictures. You will have to send these to the school or us in Korea and then we will give further instructions on what to send or take to the nearest Korean embassy. You can get your E-2 within two days and the cost is approximately $45~$60. If you decide to look for work while in Korea, then you will be required to leave the country to gain the visa – usually in Japan – which your school will pay for. ◈ Requirements A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in one of major English-speaking countries with the instructions taught in English. A certificate of TESOL/TEFL/CELTA and major of English Education is preferred but not required. Only the following 6 countries are eligible for E2 visa issuance , America , Canada, England , South Africa , New Zealand and Australia. ◈ REQUIRED DOCUMENTS ★ IN ORDER TO TEACH FOR ANY POSITION IN KOREA , YOU MUST GET AN E2 VISA ! ◐ E-2 Visa Issue Documents ◑ 1. Original copy of your diploma 2. Original copy of university transcript, has to be sealed and stamped in school envelope . 3. Copy of your passport ( front picture side) 4.
