| Assistant Controller Our Edmonton based client is a construction firm who is currently in search of an Assistant Controller. Working closely within the Finance team you will assist in regular financial reporting of financial results and variance analysis from budget. You will also assist in the monitoring of construction project accounting and work closely with operations personnel to keep projects on track. Core Duties: * As Assistant Controller, you will prepare detailed analysis of financial results in comparison to budget on a monthly basis * Assist in the preparation of adjusting journal entries and accruals * Assist in preparation of financial statements for public company reporting * Assist in the Capital and Operating Budgeting Process * Assist in the ongoing update of Forecasts * Be a strong mentor for members of the finance team Required Skills: * 5 or more years of Construction Industry Accounting experience * Have an accounting designation (CMA, CGA or CA) or be close to achieving an accounting designation * Use of JD Edwards software or advanced ERP systems would be an asset * Public company experience would be an asset * Strong analytical and Excel skills * Ability to work well within a Finance team and the ability to work with operations team members Salary: Depending on experience If you would enjoy working in the construction industry, you aspire to the role of being an Assistant Controller and contributing to the success of a large organization as a valued team member, please send your resume and cover letter to Dave Kastelic.
