As a full-time Technical Training Officer you will be responsible to manage, coordinate, develop and provide technical training to new and existing employees. Your specific duties are as follows: • Assist in the development and implementation of a technical training manual for current and new technicians including installers. • Analyze technical knowledge of service personnel. • Generate reports of technical development for the Senior Manager of technical services as required for performance reviews. • Review and approve technical training in coordination with the Service Manager and/or Senior Manager. • Ensure test equipment inspections, maintenance and service is completed and records are up to date. • Develop a database for tracking employee’s technical training records. • Assist the Senior Manager and/or Service Manager in the hiring process for new personnel. • Develop a database for tracking employee’s technical training records. • Provide technical assistance to technicians in the shop or out in the field as required. • Provide technical review of prospective employees. Qualifications • Electronic Engineering Technologist or related diploma or a suitable combination of technical education and experience. • Fluent with Industry Standard software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license. • In depth knowledge of antenna systems and RF propagation. • Excellent understanding of two way radio principles. • Proficient in programming conventional/trunking mobile and portable radio equipment. • Proficient in tuning techniques of antenna multi-coupler systems, duplexers and transmit combiners. • Excellent understanding of electronic principles and fault finding. • Awareness of electrostatic discharge procedures. • Strong interpersonal, and communication skills. • Good knowledge of occupation hazards and safe work requirements (OH&S). • Respond effectively to changing conditions. | |
