What is expected?

As a full-time Professional RF Technician you will be expected to install, test, and repair RF communication systems and associated electronics equipment. Your specific duties are as follows:
• Install and maintain two-way radio systems including conventional, digital, trunking repeaters, user radios and associated equipment.
• Install and sweep antennas, multi-coupler systems, duplexers and transmitter combiners.
• Program Motorola, Kenwood Conventional/Digital/Trunking mobile and portable radio equipment.
• Install wireless communications equipment in stationary and mobile applications including light, medium, heavy duty vehicles and associated equipment.
• Install and repair microwave broadband equipment.
• Install and repair broadband satellite systems.
• Work at heights to install antennas and transmission lines.
• Installation and configuration of Motorola Canopy Radios.
• Assist, guide, and mentor new employees as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and Post Secondary Diploma
• Electronics Engineering Technology/Technician diploma or suitable combination of education and experience
• Skilled in various computer applications and OS’s (i.e. MS Office Word, Excel, Internet Explorer etc…Windows XP, 2000, DOS etc.)
• Valid Alberta Class 5 drivers license
• Good familiarity with hand and power tools, test equipment and design/fabrication techniques frequently required when installing communications equipment.
• Good leadership and teamwork qualities
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Respond effectively to changing conditions
