| JOURNEYMAN POWERLINEMAN ATCO Electric is a member of the ATCO Group of Companies - one of Canada's premier corporations. Albertans count on ATCO Electric for the safe, reliable delivery of electricity to their homes, farms, and businesses. ATCO Electric serves almost two-thirds of the province, delivering electric energy to petroleum and forestry companies, farms, towns and cities, First Nations and Métis Settlements. Currently we have an immediate opening for the following position: POWER LINEMAN JOURNEYMAN(2 POSITIONS) GRANDE PRAIRIE These positions are responsible for construction, operation and maintenance of the Transmission and Distribution lines, equipment and company facilities in accordance with company standards, policies and procedures. Active participation in setting and achieving personal and team goals for delivery of superior customer services is expected. The successful candidates will also be required to assist in the training of apprentices. There will be extensive travel. The successful candidates will be expected to provide after hours service coverage. This position will require the candidates to work away from home base on a regular basis. This position is based in Grande Prairie, but the successful candidate will travel extensively throughout the Peace Region (approximately 80 to 100 overnight stays per year away form home base) the crews normal work week consists of four 10 hour days. Qualifications: •A valid Alberta Journeyman Power Lineman Certificate and/or Interprovincial Red Seal certificate. •Transmission & Distribution construction, operation and maintenance knowledge and skills. •A valid vehicle operator's license. •High school Diploma. Other desirable Skills: •Safe work and job planning skills and strong initiative to successfully complete personal and team projects. •Previous on call and troubleshooting experience preferred. •Previous experience running Digger derricks would be an asset. •Demonstrated skills in training of apprentices and development of team and individual performance. •Analytical and problem solving skills. •Excellent interpersonal team participation and communication (written and verbal) skills. •Demonstrated leadership, initiative and organizational skills in achieving a high degree of personal and team safety and productivity. •Personal computer experience would be an asset (Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word). •Live line techniques using sticks and 25kv rubber glove work knowledge and experience would be an asset.
