Completion of high school
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.):
Driver's Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate, WHMIS Certificate, H2S (Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness) Training, First Aid Certificate
Experience:
1 year to less than 2 years
Languages:
Speak English, Read English, Write English
Type of Trucking and Equipment:
Tractor-trailer
Documentation Knowledge:
Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports, Accident or incident reports, Dangerous goods occurrence reports
Weight Handling:
Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
Specific Skills:
Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Loading and unloading of goods, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Transport hazardous products or dangerous goods, Drive lighter, special purpose trucks, Perform emergency roadside repairs
Security and Safety:
Driving record check (abstract), Drug test
Own Tools/Equipment:
Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
Physically demanding
Essential Skills:
Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making
Other:
Work with specialized equipment to transfer molten salt from operating facility to holding tank & back. Work in full firefighter gear.
Previous experience required, long hours, irregular shifts.
