| Garment Technician The Merchandising department is searching for the right applicant to fill a critical position in our Calgary head Office. Reporting to the Apparel Development Manager of Menswear, the right person in this position will receive technical direction with respect to knit and woven garments. Garment construction and garment specifications are important elements of this position. Responsibilities: -Measure and compare specifications of a garment -Review garments and check the measurements against the specification grade rules -Perform and evaluate any quality testing -Assist with and evaluate in-store quality audits -Manage and develop a working system for the garment sample room Skills and Qualifications: -Commercial understanding of pattern drafting and grading -Commercial understanding of garment construction and terminology -Commercial understanding of garment manufacturing procedures -Commercial understanding of garment measurements and specifications -Must be computer literate with experience with MS Word, MS Excel, and Lotus Notes; knowledge of Adobe Illustrator is an asset. -Experience with dealing with overseas vendors -Experience or education in the garment manufacturing industry -Post-secondary education required | |
