Education:
Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.):
Electrical Mechanic Trade Certification, Motor Winder Trade Certification, 3rd Period Apprentice, 4th Period Apprentice
Experience:
3 years to less than 5 years
Languages:
Speak English, Read English, Write English
Major Work Area:
Maintenance, Repair, Testing, Service
Area of Specialization:
Electric motors, Generators, Industrial motors, Rotors, Shafts, Bearings, Commutators, Coils, Armatures
Specific Skills:
Test and observe electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment, Troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment, Repair or replace components and wiring, Wind, assemble and install various types of coils, Perform static or dynamic balancing of armatures or rotors, Test to ensure proper performance, Perform on-site servicing and repair
Additional Skills:
Use machining tools to fabricate or recondition parts, Weld or braze components
Own Tools/Equipment:
Tools, Steel-toed safety boots
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:
Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling
Transportation/Travel Information:
Valid driver's licence
