| Knowledge Management Lawyer Duties will include: • gathering and supervising the collection of precedents, clauses, checklists and legal research materials from practice groups and individuals for internal publication on BenNet, the Firm's new state-of-the-art intranet • with the assistance of subject matter experts within the practice groups, assessing the value of materials submitted and monitoring the currency, quality and quantity of materials published on BenNet • cataloguing and classifying materials to be published on BenNet, using various taxonomies developed to make them easy to find • working with subject matter experts within the practice groups to develop model precedents, clauses and checklists with annotations and practice points • assisting practice groups and individuals to use BenNet and other practice-related applications effectively and to incorporate knowledge sharing and technology tools into their daily routines • contributing to the continuing development of BenNet and assisting in developing better methods of content-gathering • upon request, identifying valuable transaction-specific precedents or clauses from external sources such as SEDAR and EDGAR • keeping up-to-date on developments in selected areas of law and sharing that knowledge with the Firm's legal professionals by blogging on internal practice group blogs • special responsibility to identify and address local needs of the Firm's Calgary and Edmonton offices within the national KM strategy The ideal candidate is currently a KM lawyer who possesses exceptional legal drafting and research skills gained through a minimum of two years' experience in a transactional practice with a top-tier law firm, superior organizational skills, and the ability to communicate and interact with both legal professionals and staff in a way that fosters collaboration and knowledge-sharing. | |
